Hello, my name is Shikin Hambali

The Origin

My passion for plants was rooted right after finishing my SPM in 2001, that was when I started a project to redecorate the home garden with Hoya, Dracaena & many other perennial flowering plants.

The plant scene 20 years ago was unlike what we experience today, unfortunately my interest in gardening wasn't popular among my peers & for some reason only 'reserved' for retirees. Teenage peer pressure got to me & since I was mostly away from home for studies (& later a demanding career), I drifted away from something that gave me such joy.

The old spark was reignited in 2018 & I have since grown especially fond of collecting prickly plants & odd-looking succulents, more importantly growing them gave me a new purpose.

Today, I'm really glad that the plant community network has grown because social media connects people who share the same likes, not only locally but on a global scale!

Founding Potsu By SH

I spent over a decade as an interior designer, stylist & consultant before I founded Potsu By SH during CMCO 2020 as a home business, specialising in succulent plants and hoping to share my passion & experience with the local community through both social media and personal interactions.

To strengthen the stems & broaden my knowledge, I started to sit in horticulture science lectures for the past year despite being nervous about studying again at an adult age.

I would love to have you join in on the fun of diving deeper into all-things succulent plants (& other plants too of course occasionally!) by following @potsubysh on Instagram.

Note:

In the interest of plant conservation, Potsu By SH will not deal in habitat collected plants.

Allah's Messenger (ï·º) said, "There is none amongst the Muslims who plants a tree or sows seeds, and then a bird, or a person or an animal eats from it, but is regarded as a charitable gift for him."
